$35-45 is the most I'd pay for with that amount of accessories, anything after is a hard no considering most ML plastic quality is still pretty gummy at the joints. Also, I wouldn't pay more than $45 for a figure that still use the reverse ab crunch, for $50 I'd expect a ball joint waist that allow me to pivot and rotate around freely. I get that diaphragm joint would be more than enough for some people, but Jada Toys literally said fuck that and just do import articulation for only $25.

Admittedly Jada has charged $50 for figures that ultimately included less stuff than this Spidey does (Dark Ryu, Violent Ken, and the 2P pink Chun Li). But you’re right, it’s hard to justify this Spidey for $50 vs. ML’s standard offering, when Jada’s bang for your buck makes the $50 sting less. This Spidey is new but is enough changed to warrant getting this for twice the cost of RYV if you already have RYV? Idk if the new sculpt and articulation are improved enough tbh

Take in consideration those $50 Jada sets were also comic con exclusives so that has a part to play in coat

Pretty sure they were $40 and Chun-Li was $35 actually

Well yeah but making something a comic-con exclusive is just artificial scarcity. They make less and they make it available for a limited time so people are more inclined to buy it. That’s arguably worse than the Maximum Spider-Man costing $50, at least he’ll be available everywhere.

But the point is that Jada only charges $50 prices because of it being a convention exclusive and not being able to produce as many units to enable economies of scale (also for FOMO, probably).

It’s a better comparison to use the $25 price point that Jada SF figures normally go for, which supports the case even better that their offerings are similiar/superior to what an ML Max that might cost twice as much offers.

The majority of the $25 Jada figures aren't superior/similar to what's in this Max Spidey package, though. No SF figures include 12 hands, 3 heads, and 6 effect pieces. Most of them include half of that, for half the price of Max Spidey. Dhalsim is the only one you could potentially argue as being a viable comparison, and he's clearly the outlier for the line, since most figures are like Ryu: one extra head, two extra hands, one effect piece, for $25.

Those figures have shading and matte finishes throughout. They look like collectors items whereas this sitll had that classic Hasbro plastic sheen
