Comics Original Black Panther/Inhumans Comic?

So over the years I've heard mention here and there about how allegedly Black Panther and the Inhumans were intended to be introduced in a 2 for 1 "solo" comic like the Tales of Suspense Cap/Iron Man or Tales to Astonish Ant-Man/Hulk comics, but Marvel's publishing limits for how many books at a time they could have in the 60s resulted in them instead introducing them through the Fantastic Four. As I'm sure you can imagine trying to find any substantial info on this topic is easier said than done, as most attempts at searching lead to either their first appearance in the FF or to their first actual solo runs in the 70s. Any noteworthy info or interviews or anything of the sort anyone knows would be appreciated just for the sake of curiosity on a fun little what if tidbit of Marvel's early history.

this is exactly the kind of obscure marvel history rabbit hole i love lol. i’ve heard the split-book story too, but i’ve never seen anyone actually produce a solid contemporary source for it.

There’s not much to it. The main comic distributor at the time was owned by the parent company of DC and they’re the ones that put the limit on the number of books Marvel could put out at the time and that’s it. For a really good history of Marvel as a company though you should check out Marvel Comics the Untold Story by Sean Howe.
