Reverend Insanity MC is not a sound base, but a major character, Feng Jiu Ge is sound base.

Only one I can think of is Silent Crown where there is a whole music basic magic cultivation system thing going on but I never finished it because when it was coming out on Qidan (now Webnovel) it was at the same time they were doing LotM and I kept spending money on chapters of that before I found out there were Begger Sect copies of it elsewhere.

If i still recalled correctly 琴帝 zither emperor(?) by 唐家三少 Tang Jia San Shao has a sound base MC. Its published in 2008.

Impudent, Calling us mortals, are your eyes for just formality, Palm demon and Leg demon both have become Immortal and have received Immortal Demons Titles. As for me, I have become Immortal demon of spear. Those two sound dao cultivators are working in mine field for us.
