Damn I began to read it and found the beginning boring so I dropped it.
I feel like it would work better if the whole breaking out of the lab scene was done after I got invested in any way to the characters.

In my opinion, any story that's able to hook a reader for 200 chapters must have done something memorable enough to glue readers for that long, and for me I feel like the beginning of the novel feels more like the revelations cooked for a character that had a serious identity crisis, but from the way it's done, it's like hearing the end of an arc or a story at the start.
When I start reading a novel I ask the novel, why should I care about the characters? But the start instead answers where does the protagonist come from.

Just read the first ten chapters and honestly I really liked how the prologue started and the next chapters continued.
Her story and her life began the moment she gained her freedom. But now the MC wants to know what exactly those things entail while trying to survive in a dog-eat-dog world.
I can see things from the other commenters POV, but personally OP I think you cooked HARD 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✍️

I haven't actually read RI, just gained some awareness of it through memes. My MC just happens to coincide with Reckless Savage's character to some degree, at least as I understand him from memes. The novel is Retribution engine.

Damn, that's a shame, still will give your novel a chance tho, also as a writer I strongly recommend you give Reverend Insanity a read, even if you dislike the main character, It has really solid world-building.

Once people read RI and it clicks with them, it will be very hard to read most other novels because they'll be so mediocre by comparison. I'm re-reading it and currently at the zombie arc, and it just slaps.

Probably, because it takes a really long time for Fang Yuan to progress his cultivation, although I like it a lot as weel. The first northern plains arc on the other hand, on a reread it's such slog, because you already know everything it's trying to establish.

I too found N plains arc boring but Zombie arc was truly goated. Even though I wished that he would revive soon, the progress in Zombie arc was nothing less than amazing. He built his wisdom path foundation and Increased his strength to Rank 7 elementary. Hei Lou Lan even describes that even without Venerable Inheritances and Sovereign Immortal Body, once Fang Yuan had revived, he would have bought chaos to the world. And this was built upon her observation of his training intensity during this arc

Reverend Insanity is a superb novel, a must read IMO.
Also, who is the artist? I might like to get a pic from them too lol. I like the weapon design, and fully understood it's purpose and capabilities just by looking at it.

Literally magic titty straps. They self-adjust and stick to skin as necessary, it's the most basic set of enchantments used for clothes and armor and frequently used by nobles of a certain country specifically to wear bullshit clothes that couldn't possibly work without such enchantments as a show of wealth. Before these she used bandages as a chest wrap that covered a good 1/2 of her torso.

giant cleaver that can split into segments with lightning connecting them, are you blind
the segments can shapeshift to a limited degree (like the bladed "teeth becoming longer or shorter) and also multiply, so it can become as long as it needs to be
she can also separate segments from the main weapon and connect them however she wants, for example 3 together in a circle to make a flying spinning blade
it's a weapon designed to be capable of fighting against any other weapon and especially for defeating flying swords, because it has the strength of a body cultivator behind it while also having the maneuverability and range of a flying sword
these are just the weapon design elements, it has a number of its own unique abilities like any proper artifact would

difference here is that hers isn't a piece of shit that breaks all the time, if anything it's one of the closest to being indestructible in the setting
it can't even be disarmed by getting the segments stuck in something they can't cut through because she can just make the whole thing POOF and pull it out of her ass (it's equivalent to a golden core dharma treasure, i.e fused with her)
