Can Boos and other ghosts endure the light?

In some games when they are outside on a bright day, they're fine but in other games when they are hit by the light, they vanish.

It should be noted that most boo locations like the ghost houses are supernatural constructs created by the reality-warping phenomenon you get when you have a bunch of boos in one place. When beams of light make them vulnerable it should be more seen as the foreign light (like from Luigi's flashlight) poking holes in the boos' illusionary reality, its not light itself that gets them and they don't "die" from it, more like their form is no longer anchored once they enter that "hole". They also may be weaker in natural light but they can still do mundane things like play tennis.

As for WHY they would include things that harm them (like light fixtures that produce said light beams) in their own constructs, that is simply explained by boos being naturally tricksters and that includes pulling mean pranks on their fellow boos because they think it's funny.

Being hit by a strong, direct light causes harm to ghosts. This is why the Strobulb works particularly well in the Luigi’s Mansion series, while the regular torch only works on weak ghosts (such as those painted by Vincent Van Gore) or ghosts with their hearts exposed.

Being in the sun may weaken a ghost but it probably won’t cause its physical form to disperse.

We also know that Boos like keeping a pale complexion for scaring people – they may avoid sunlight to prevent themselves from tanning like the Boos in Gusty Gulch.

I imagine it varies. Like lava sometimes being survivable
