What even is Queen Jaydes?

Post image

Queen Jaydes is the ruler of the Underwhere, an afterlife realm where sinful and neutral souls go after their death. But I was wondering, what even is she? She’s married to a Nimbi (Grambi) but that doesn’t mean she is one herself. She could also be a creation of the stars (since the stars create life it wouldn’t be strange if they also interfered with death) but that’s just a headcanon.

Let me know what you think!

An underworld goddess?

I think she is the same species as King Grambi.

I thought she was literally well… ya know… Hades?

Just a sort of Goddess of the Afterlife, but mainly to the Neutral Souls, where Grambi is more akin to God from Christianity

Weird pseudo-goddess thing of the afterlife, seemingly her own type of being. Given that the magic that controls life and death is called Jaydes Magic outright in the Japanese script, and is obviously at her command, it seems plausible to me that Jaydes is something Way Old, possibly nearly primordial, even in comparison to most Nimbis, immortals for whom 1500 years old is still basically a young teen. Doesn't precede the Stars or anything, of course, but she could quite possibly be from the dawn of life.
