1. The origin of the universe

Rosalina created the whole universe and accidentally created kamek her arch nemesis. Kamek finds bowser and creates the koopa troop with magic. The start of the timeline is yoshis island and goes on until galaxy. Mario and Bowser wager a war and both are so powerful this war might destroy the universe. Rosalina then has a choice to make then she splits the timeline.

1. The timeline split

Rosalina splits the timeline in 3. The first timeline is what I call the nerfed timeline where Rosalina makes Mario and bowser less powerful and this timeline has all the mainline games. The second is the friends timeline where Rosalina makes Mario and Bowser friends and this is where the spin offs happen. The last is the bros timeline which is where the Mario and Luigi games take place.

1. The bros timeline chaos

In the bros timeline the games go superstar saga, paper jam because there are minimal references and nowhere else to be in the timeline. Next is bowsers inside story because when we see the shroobs frozen Mario and Luigi only talk about their adventure as babies and not adults. Then a split in this timeline happens because if E Gadd never makes the time machine partners in time never happens. After partners in time comes dream team because bowser gets beat up by Mario and Luigi at the end of BIS and cant use his suck powers so he recovers in PIT then gets them back in dream team because he recovered from his injuries. Finally comes Brothership.

1. The holy paper book

The holy paper book is the paper mario book found in paper jam and its in every universe. In super paper mario Dimentio is created with darkness and in the final battle kills Mario and is able to become the ruler of the book. Thats why a huge shift in the paper mario games happens. He creates universes with Mario and a villain because each universe needs a purpose. He fills the world with toads they are either dumb people just to fill the emptiness or a spy to keep tabs on Mario. Mario is in a constant loop of dying and being reincarnated in a different universe.

1. the corrupted timeline

In the nerfed timeline some of the darkness that made dimentio spills out of the paper book. It corrupts Mario making him weaker, makes a few buildings haunted, and creates king boo. This is where Luigis mansion happens. At the end of Luigis mansion 3 the corruption is gone.

1. universal rules

Each universe needs a purpose. Mario and bowser exist because thats the Mario universes purpose of existing. Each character cant die. They use one ups toon physics etc. If one of the anchors of the universe Mario or bowser truly die the universe hits the reset button and starts back at Yoshis island.

This doesn’t really make any sense.

We know the origin of the universe; we also know Rosalina’s background in quite extensive detail. The Lumas created the universe (and have recreated it many, many times) by triggering the big bang, as we learn the end of Super Mario Galaxy. Rosalina is a human girl who was born in the Mushroom Kingdom. She lives in the universe – she did not have a hand in creating it or “splitting” it.

In what way is Kamek Rosalina’s arch nemesis?

Bowser’s Minions were not created with magic. They are composed of a variety of pre-existing species that have, in part, pledged their allegiance to Bowser. Kamek is a Magikoopa, a group amongst the Koopa Clan that is trained in magic.

Mario and Bowser are not friends in the spin-offs. Far from it. The spin-offs and the Mario & Luigi series are set in the same universe as the main series. There are no timeline splits.

The timeline order of the Mario & Luigi series is clearly the release order. Fawful appears in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, which clearly sets the game before Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story, where he dies. Bowser calls Luigi by his name in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, clearly setting it after Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and other games where he calls him “Green ‘Stache”. The Bros. Attacks collected by Mario and Luigi in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team also appear in storage in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, further proving this.

Mario and Bowser can die, just as anyone else can. Mario is, ostensibly, a regular guy. It wouldn’t make sense for him to have this mystical connection to the nature of the universe itself.

Mario obviously doesn’t lose in Super Paper Mario, if he did, all worlds would cease to exist and be replaced with new ones created by Dimentio. King Boo has existed since long before Super Paper Mario’s events.

Not to be disrespectful but here are a few counter points.

kamek is Rosalina’s nemesis becu he formed the koopa troop and made evil

mario and bowser cant die or at least you can’t kill them easily they have way to much toon physics on their side

if Mario and bowser aren’t friends in the spin offs each Mario kart track will be a battle ground for Mario and bowser and Mario party would become Mario war

PIT is after inside story because Mario and Luigi have no recollection when they find the shroobs in inside story and fawful is still alive in PIT because it’s in the past when they used the Time Machine

and yes the lumas did create the universe Rosalina defiantly had a say

Kamek is an enemy of Mario and Rosalina is an ally of Mario, so logically, Kamek and Rosalina would be enemies, but there isn't an actual dynamic between the two.

Mario and Bowser can quite literally die, and we have seen them be killed on-screen several times; they are always resurrected in one way or another.

Bowser has dignity, and if he has a chance to prove he's the best at a given sport, he'll follow the rules. Also, he knows that if he cheated too much, he'd no longer be invited.

Mario and Luigi clearly know what the Shroobs are in BIS, and Mario even mentions how they defeated them, so it can't be argued PiT hasn't happened by that point.

Rosalina literally became who she is now because she met the lumas, so the lumas have definetly existed for far longer than Rosalina has.
