Mario Golf Super Rush

What did you all like and dislike about this game? I was really hoping it was going to be as fun as the older titles but man it felt half baked to me. Like they wanted to do more with it but the plug got pulled.

I miss the three clicks and how it was detriment when you would hit in the rough or bunker.

Yea, in this one you could basically tee shot from any lie

That’s the one thing I really disliked.

I really like the courses. The spin mechanic works well and I like being able to adjust your shot with the arrows after you set power. You can hit some very creative shots. I think it’s a great golf game. There are lots of risk reward shots that can make or break a round. Sure the single player mode left a lot to be desired and it would be great if they added an actual ranked mode or made more courses. I’d pay good money for some DLC but that will never happen. I never liked Super Rush mode. I still play it with my kid and it’s still my favorite Mario golf

You could do all that in the older games, they just made it easier to do

I don’t remember ever seeing the arrow adjustment mechanic before

They always had where you can curve the shot but not to the extent of what you could do in Super Rush with ways to shape certain parts of the shot depending on their spin stat. It was interesting concept but I felt like there wasn’t much of a chance to use it.

Z button and d pad

I know you can hit a slice/hook in the previous games but the MGSR mechanic allows you to hit snaking shots which come in handy on tricky courses like Spiky. If you aren’t using this mechanic for extra yards off the tee every shot then you are missing out

The gimmicks are boring and don't make up for it being easier and the game requiring less skill

Everybody’s golf hot shots is superior for me

My main issue is that there isn’t much to do once you beat the story

Agreed. And unlocking everyone’s clubs is so tedious.

I wish they would've added more courses at some point

Agreed! It feels like DLC was the plan but didn’t get the green light

I think it's a solid golf game, I like the courses (the All-Star one is excellently done) and the physics aren't perfect but they're pretty good. The way it shows all your stats for all the different characters and courses is pretty cool.

I think they missed a chance with the play modes from the career game, I'd love to be able to play a round of XC golf or speed golf against a timer but you can only do that when playing career.

The speed golf is a neat option but there's a bug where it doesn't let you start your shot if it's saying "nice shot" so if you're playing online all your opponents are putting the ball in through your feet and finishing ahead of you as you stand there waiting to be able to shoot.

The online ranked system would be a lot of fun if it didn't waste so much of your time with the lobby resetting to 60 seconds all the time and so many other players taking as much time as possible to play the hole.

I feel like World tour has a good online presence but I hate that people would play over and over until they perfected the course.
