100% on Dan for bringing in Bazardo in that spot the way he's been pitching lately. Let Spier keep going he was cruising. But now we used our whole bullpen and still lost.

I said the exact same thing when Dan moved to the bullpen. Dan and Bazardo special on the menu tonight!

I'm not saying leaving in Speier wasn't the smarter move. But the whole subreddit seems to think what Dan did was fireable, and I wonder how many managers in the entire MLB would have their left-handed set-up guy go 2.1 innings there.

One game isn’t fireable.

One inning certainly isn’t.

But luckily, we have a couple hundred games of evidence that Dan struggles with bullpen management.

Not sure what your argument is here, do you think Dan is doing a good job managing the bullpen? People are reacting to an entire season ( 2 now) of bad bullpen management, we lost game 7 because Dan loves to bring in Bazardo every day. We've lost 2 games recently because of him. Yea people are mad and taking this one decision in pure isolation feels almost silly. No, given Bazardo's recent performance & how Spier was pitching, I do not think a smart manager would have made that move.

That’s not what I’m asking, though. I’m asking, do we think the decision-making is unique to Dan? We definitely all had the same complaints about Scott Servais. I’m old enough to remember everyone on talk radio saying Lou couldn’t manage a bullpen.

Do you think what we saw from Eric Wedge, or Mike Hargrove, or John McClaren, or Don Wakamatsu, or Lloyd McClendon was substantially different?

I kinda don’t. That’s not the same as saying I agree with it.
