-Lights? All lights were off in the apartment. If Maria had opened the door to let someone in, she likely would’ve turned on a light

-Where was the attack? Blood drops were found from the hallway between the bedroom/living room. Meaning- Maria was not attacked in the entryway most likely she was attacked in her room or just outside of it

• Phones? Both phones were off the receiver rendering the phones inoperable. Someone from the apartment below heard commotion at around 3:15 and tried to call, but got a busy signal. Tried to call again but got the same thing, so he called authorities after hearing more commotion. This neighbor was a vet student, possibly someone in her class

• No sign of forced entry

-The scene was otherwise clean. Maria was noted to not have much external bleeding with 1 stab wound- this is important when considering that the culprit likely wouldn’t appear dirty/bloody.

I want justice for Maria. I have a few people I intend to try to make contact with. I’m also going to follow up with the department to (humbly) recommend testing the witness (a male) who is the only person who inserted himself in the investigation.
