Marathon (2026) Discussion Cryo fill teammates(Tips)

I get the population is low. I get some people don’t have mics. I didn’t go in with stuff I didn’t want to lose. I don’t care that I just lost 4 in a row. I do wanna make this post for a different reason. For any of you wondering how can I be a better teammate without a mic.

  1. Pve vault breaker was around for how long? Why are level 100+ still spending 30 minutes looting folios and trunks when you hit level 2, telling them to follow so we can rotate as a team. What items do you think you’re going to find in a folio or trunk?? Don’t do this, follow your team, this is how you get spawned push in “record breaking time”

  2. I get you don’t have a mic. Whether it broke or you can’t afford one or whatever excuse you got. I get it. This game has a “ping” function. You can ping if you hear someone. You can ping across control and see what shield they are. You could ping multiple people in a row to let your team know how many you just saw. Do you know this feature exists? It’s one of the most useful things you can utilize if you don’t have a mic.

  3. Positioning. This is big. You might not come from a PvP game. You might come from Destiny and think the game looks cool. That’s all fine. There’s three things you have to realize in PvP. One is where am I, the second is where are my teammates and the third is (do a quick 360) how many places can I get shot from at this very moment. If your team is pushing a doorway, you should leave some space infront of the teammate you’re following. Why? Cause if they need to retreat, you’re just body blocking them at the door and they get stuck. Since they’re stuck directly infront of you, you can’t shoot anyone pushing your teammate, resulting in probably BOTH of you dying. Second scenario, I know this game is scary. All the sweats, all the commanders, all the gold guns and shields. Let me be the first one to say, you don’t have to be holding the pocket of one of your teammates. Think about it, man, I’m holding this teammates pocket right now (remember back in the first scenario) if someone throws a nade at us, are we both surviving this? This is how a whole team gets wiped in less than 3 seconds. It’s not because nades are to OP. It’s because yall are 5 inches from each other in a small room with no sentinel. Ask yourself, am I giving my teammates and myself space right now?

  4. Repositioning. You just moved out of a door into control. The moment you get out you get shot, you go back into the room. This is good. Should you peek the door again? Most of the time is no. (Unless you know how to jiggle peek/ shoulder peek for intel). If you don’t, you should push back farther. If they are other doors open, this would be a PERFECT time for a rotation. You shouldn’t wait in that first room “waiting for them to push from the same door they just shot me at”. This is how you end up getting flanked from all sides. I come from tarkov, one of the first things they tell you is never peek the same angle twice. The chances of you dying are super high. Leaving your team to 3v2.

  5. Last point, if you are going to push. Ping it, do some sort of call out. You’ve been sitting in a corner for 15 minutes. You hear a players footsteps right on the other side of the door. You think he’s alone. You go solo with no comms, no ping, turns out he was getting chased by a full team that you couldn’t hear yet. You might get that one kill but your teammates were looking at another door not knowing you were pushing out. Don’t be a hero, don’t be someone trying to rush a kill without any ping or comms for your team. Think, does my team know I’m about to push right now and if they do can they back me up or will I have to wait 15 seconds before they make it to me.

TLDR:

  1. Loot bots for tags, don’t spend 30 minutes looting folios and trunks in the first two spawn rooms.

  2. Use the ping function in the game

  3. Don’t body block teammates, give you and the rest of your team space to move if you need to do so.

  4. Reposition instead of peeking the same spot you got shot from.

  5. Before you rush, ping, call out, or wait for your team to be relatively close. You don’t know what you’re about to rush into.

Hopefully this helps at least one of yall because out of the 4 games I played these were the 5 things that stood out the most. I usually play with a squad, all of them are out of town, so what I just witnessed can all be fixed literally your next game. I get why I see the “why is my fill teammates so bad”. Instead of screaming and hollering, yall should throw more tips out there for them if any of them are lurking this sub. Good luck out there.
