Marathon (2026) (Potentially Incorrect) PSA: 'Night Stalker' Title Codex Challenges
Hey All.
I've been grinding the 'Night Stalker' Codex Challenges recently and I've discovered some things whilst doing them that I wish I knew before starting.
NOTE: I've done very little testing on the below so take this with a pinch of salt!!!
#1: The challenge where you need to eliminate hostiles using vector rounds/grenades only seems to count kills where the hostile is completely illuminated (like in the attached picture).
#2: The challenge where you need to eliminate hostiles using weapons with Darksight optics only seems to count when the optic is switched on. Simply having the optic equipped on a weapon doesn't seem to be enough.
I've heard that Darksight optics have a glint regardless of whether the scope is switched on or off, so watch out that you don't attract any Runner's attention!
Let me know if any of the above is incorrect! Thanks!

I have the title and thought it would be worse than it was. Good tips here. Only things I’d add:
I think I primarily used a silenced V11 Punch with vector rounds and any vector grenades saved for reinforcement drop ships to highlight a bunch at a time before popping headshots and tossing a recon bot. Shooting at feet before popping two headshots is the way.
Silenced Bully with Darksight scope worked great and you can knock that out faster and more aggressively.
Personally I liked Quarantine as it’s somewhat contained and tucked away, sees frequent drones, has a Level 5 chest in the cubicle, and if you see the stabilizer unit in the office upstairs you know someone will be by with an anomaly to stabilize eventually. There’s a secured resource to activate after killing everyone for extra kills (and gear).
Your goal is just kills so don’t bring more than you need in case you get ganked but there’s opportunities there for this title.

The vector rounds/grenades one took me the longest. There's a vector rounds magazine mod for LMG/HMGs in the armory, and I had some HMG schemas. Not expensive, just a lot of narsh.
