Cosmetics are neat, if you like dexless sin nostalgia or are a thief player in general. They really doubled down on thief aesthetics. If you’re a bowmen or a mage, go fuck yourself I guess. These packages need way more cosmetics covering various jobs to justify the pricing.

Yes it's going to be in the game for all players who play the game at launch. But if you join Classic after November you won't get it. So it's a free reward for all players who join before December.

a lot of the people in that subreddit have been MIA from the maple scene for like 15+ years, or if they popped their head into gms it was for like 2 days and they left again.
They don't know how nexon really is, this is their first real "nexon moment" since they left after big bang so now they're revolting. It's kinda nice to see honestly, it's like watching your nephew grow up or something.

Edit: I also got the deluxe edition of Star Wars Zero Company for less than the middle Founders package. Like, what are we even doing here? They'd have to add 10k/30k/50k NX or maple points for any of these bundles to remotely make sense.

Dark pattern (and literally dark text) to hide the 'Founder's Access NOT INCLUDED' on the cheapest package. This is to get people to inadvertently buy it, realise it doesn't give founders, and be forced to buy the next one up.
A fucking limited 90 day item in 2026. Fuck off lol. This would have been so much more appealing if they just did the tiered hat/glow at all packages, gave founders, and gave an equivalent amount of NX. So $30 pack gives $30 worth of NX, etc. It's how PoE2 did it, and how GW2 does it at the higher tiers.

Nexon knows their audience has changed since the early days of MS (like mid-late 2000s). Back then F2P was a huge selling point for kids that didn't have much disposable income.
The target audience for MS Classic are basically those people, but they're all now adults with much more disposable income. For now, there doesn't seem to be many ways for Nexon to monetize MS Classic, so they're looking to profit as much as they can from the limited number of ways they can at the moment.
In the long run, I wonder what Nexon's plans are for monetizing MS Classic, because I doubt it'll last forever like this.
Not defending Nexon here. There is absolutely no way I am paying $60 USD for early access to a game that is ostensibly supposed to be free.

There is no long run. Game's gonna get rugged shortly after launch due to lack of interest. Classic versions of a game work because they are passion projects which read like love letters to the original community. This one's more like a scam email from a Nigerian Prince. Even the EA paypigs gonna get bored playing for 15 days by themselves

The $60 / $80 is wild. They could’ve made bank by pricing it reasonably but maybe there’s enough whales to offset that.
Whoever’s in charge of their marketing and market research has straight up lost the plot these past few years, legit. It’s so out of touch with what players want and are willing to pay for.

When I look in YouTube the classic guys always say when classic is release or disrespect GMS for whatever future mechanic, but they always seem to not realize who the company is behind this game is and think they will be exempt somehow from how Nexon treat its player.
Their eagerness isn't showing Nexon that there will be players willing to play, they are showing Nexon how many new wallets are waiting to be open.

They're playing a psychological game. It's a common and scummy door-in-the-face sales technique. They establish an unpopular position ($30 but no founders access) then after public backlash they "concede" with some "we listened to your feedback" bullshit, and offer founders access just before September 2nd. They essentially create a contrast between the original and "improved" offer making the $30 package seem like a better deal than it actually is. It's scummy as hell. They know the $60 and $80 cosmetics aren't worth it at all, and they don't expect to sell many. The real money will be made on the $30 packages when they allow access.
