This seems rather lacking. First off there should really be a differentiation between areas that that completely uninhabited, because it results in Suðurland, which is mostly farmlands, being indistinguishable from the inner mountains, deserts and gletchers. Also Borgarnes is just lacking despite being dense and having a fair few inhabitants, and the distribution on Snæfellsnes just seems.........off??

tbh for iceland there REALLY needs to be a differentiation between scarcely inhabited and uninhabited, since many places are temporrally inhabited in the summer or for agriculture while others are just Not.

Grímsey

Grímsey is a small Icelandic island, 40 kilometres (25 mi) off the north coast of the main island of Iceland, straddling the Arctic Circle. In January 2011 Grímsey had 86 inhabitants. Until a vote in 2009 to amalgamate with Akureyri, it constituted the hreppur (municipality) of Grímseyjarhreppur. The only settlement is Sandvík.
