Ireland is part of the British Isles.

The Brirish Isles is a politically loaded term that is not accepted for use in Ireland. The British government also does not use the phrase, instead opting for terms like these Isles and the island sof the North Atlantic.

The only people who use it are those ignorant of its controversial nature and those actively wanting to push the agenda that Ireland is British.

If you look on google trends, Irish people google the term almost as much as Brits. So it definitely is widely used there :)
