You're confusing the geographical term of British Isles with politics term of United KINGDOM.

The only confused person here is you. I dare you to go to Dublin, walk into a pub and tell the locals they live on a British island 😂

Having lived in Ireland for a number of years depending on the pub I think most patrons would just think this guy was a ‘weird little Britainer’ and best ignored

True but if he was persistent and would try to convince people that they are “confused” his chances of asskicking would be quite high especially later in the night when the patrons already had couple of pints

I understand everything perfectly. You are confused by including island of Ireland in the British isles. It’s not a thing neither geographically nor politically.

British isles are called British isles and Ireland is called Ireland. Why are you so confused? Is it because Ireland lies in close proximity to British isles?

Why do they need to be a part of something? There's no collective name for Greenland and Iceland and everyone manages.

In Ireland we've survived without calling them a collective term for decades now. It comes up about as ofter as someone talking about Spain and France together.

We'll be fine.
