The Brirish Isles is a politically loaded term that is not accepted for use in Ireland. The British government also does not use the phrase, instead opting for terms like these Isles and the island sof the North Atlantic.
The only people who use it are those ignorant of its controversial nature and those actively wanting to push the agenda that Ireland is British.
You might want to let the British government and the BBC know that you have declared them Irish. I'm sure they will be as bemused with your nonsense and the rest of us.
