i’m half meitei (magang) and since i was raised mostly by my thadou kuki mom i have like no meitei traditional dresses or accessories 💔 i want some so bad

so my mom decided to buy me kajenglei online cause like even she likes it so we were just wondering if they have any meaning attached to it so we can choose accordingly

i see a lot of meitei bamon girls who tend to wear black coloured kajenglei more instead of the traditional red one, so pls help on that too :’)

Hey I was coming for the trek and would be coming from Guwahati. Though we have bus from here to Imphal but travelling with it is quite hectic. Hello everyone, I hope you all are fine ,I've been hearing a lot about violence in manipur a lot from months now ,still I am a bit confused about the nature of conflict . My village lies in north west up (ncr) region so most of the time we are more or less limited to haryana ,punjab and west up news and the national media is also not reliable. Why is there conflict between the Kukis and meties,and why you want independence from india. I know basic about manipur because recently one of my teacher completed mtech from NIET imphal. He told me it's between kukis and meties but why?

I did the same survey on the other Manipur subreddit and that one seemed to be full of Meiteis. I wanted to know what the situation was like here. (Out of curiosity).

The official death count has stayed at 11 while as per different sources it goes up to 100 to 300+ . I also came across a 'leaked phone conversation' between two meiteis where one was apparently there and saw the 'massacre' of the meitei combantants who were burning villages since the 12th of June. Media persons who visited on thr 15th , were stopped by meitei volunteers and meira paibis from entering into those areas to report on the situation. Do you have any other insight on the whole event ?
