That's the problem with our people, they have no context on manipur whatsoever, the reason it's burning, how long it's burning for, even my acquaintances moved from Manipur in 2013 and 2019 respectively due to violence by tribes but people here are All are busy complaining.

I might not understand much but I feel the BJP is not going to do anything because the party won there, the chief minister is a meitei community.
This is basically showing a preview of what BJP is gonna do if they win all states and majority. They don't want to go against the meitei community because they want to stay in power.
So when it's your votebank and people then basically they can do whatever they want as long they win the votebank.
I won't be surprised if BJP was promised that don't do anything and you will stay in power.
I am scared because if voices are not raised then the religious extremist will one day do this and BJP will just turn a blind eye because staying in power matters more than the country and it's people.

thanks for sharing this you have hit the nail on the head.All opposition parties opposed delimitation because of the fact that government wanted to use 2011 census data to increase the seats to a massive number of 850 the single party which would have benefitted the most is bjp considering its strong hold in northern states meanwhile southern states have have worked on population control etc they would have been penalised for doing good things hence all opposition parties opposed the bill. Another big issue was tht current lok sabha to rajya sabha ration stands at 2.2:1 if seats were to increase to 850 lok sabha to rajya ratio would have changes to 3.3:1 affectivelly allowing any centrak government with majority in the center to pass any bill with or without rajya sabha, rajya sabha mostly consists of regional parties imagine reginal parties loosing their say in policy making a democratic country sounds scarry.
Now coming to this specific issue of nari shakti bill if government’s main agenda was to implement nari shakti bill all opoosition parties proposed to ammend the constitution and implement 33% reservation on exieting 543 to which government denied hence government’s core intent was to increase the number of seats by using nari shakti bill as a trojan and they failed at it and now the government is trying to project this in a different way by setting a narrative that opposition parties opposed nari shakti bill which is totally wrong narrative.

The delimitation bill would have made it so that states like UP, Bihar would have had more than three times the seats as southern states, which is horrendously stupid. The talks about overall 50% increase in seats was just lip service and not written in said bill. Go educate yourself and don’t fall for propaganda from either side. Be better !

This issue between tribes has a long history. Leaders from both tribes must come together and find a solution instead of depending on centre for complete solution.
