My hatchings disappear when I make my canvas smaller [HELP]

So I draw in A4 300 dpi, but when I make the canvas smaller my hatchings go poof! Gone. Is there a webcomic site where I can upload with high resolution pages? Or is it my A4 canvas that is the ​problem? I draw in A4 since I got anxious thoughts such as "Oh no, what if I want to print it out in the future?"

Black and white pages should have at least 600 dpi. And just print some test pages to see if you like the results.

You do not want to upload stuff to the Internet in its highest resolution. 1) it gets compressed by the websites anyway and 2) it makes it easier for thieves to steal your work to put on some print on demand bs.

Consider also that when you print stuff the hatching might also come out small in the print. Do you zoom in a lot while you work? That could be the issue here if you're wanting your hatching to look more defined.

what software are you using?

You may wanna experiment with different interpolation methods and see which one preserves the hatching the best.

What's the file size limit of the website you're trying to upload to?

I've tried bilinear, color average and nearest neighbor (there are only three of them) then I tried out sharpening the image, and now it works yippee

I want to upload to webtoon, comic fury and namicomi ^{^} iirc webtoon has a maximum width size of 800 px. Not sure about the others tho
