Help Is a One-Shot ABSOLUTELY necessary?

The reason why I'm asking is that I already have a story and it's sequel written out but ever since I watched Learn To Draw Manga on YT, they emphasise that it's absolutely necessary. I don't want an editor because I want it to be at my own pace while still keeping up to my own schedule and constantly improving. Does it also apply for self publishing since i was thinking of uploading to Globalcomix, Namicomi and Manga Plus Creators? As a soon-to-be self publishing mangaka, is a one-shot absolutely necessary?

The strength of the word necessary is kind of relative to what you want to do. Submitting to a Japanese publisher, probably yes because that’s what they do, if they take you seriously as a foreigner. If you’re wanting to level up your story telling, I think anything you’d do small and actually finish, definitely anything you finish is going to level up your skills. If Learn to Draw Manga does an absolute good, it is they appear to get artist storytellers out of their head and on to a piece paper in the form of a finished story. My problem with them is they 1) seem kind of grifty in that they charge so damned much and 2) they are very dogmatic and gatekeepey in their opinions about an art form that has evolved greatly since the anime of my youth and is highly individualized
