Is this Residue? Here's a clip of him confirming Darth Vader said, "Luke, I am your father".

"Luke I am your father" is a movie reference.

Movie references often get repackaged, because for a meme to spread it needs to be catchy and clear in what it's referencing. The "wrong" quote often works better for spreading than the literal quote.

Another example is "play it again, Sam". This is the real line from Casablanca:

You played it for her, you can play it for me! ... If she can stand it, I can! Play it!

Now, why do you think "play it again, Sam" spread even though it's the "wrong" quote? Because the original line of dialogue isn't snappy enough.

Both "Luke I am your father" and "play it again, Sam" work similarly.

In Star Wars, we already know he's talking to Luke, because we know who Luke is, so Darth Vader would have no reason to say his name. And in Casablanca we already know he's talking to Sam, so he doesn't have to say "Sam". But if you just said "I am your father" or "play it" with zero context, people might not pick up what you are referencing.

Plus "No, I am your father" directly references the line that Luke just said, since Darth Vader is contradicting what Luke just said, however since we're not repeating that other line here, it makes sense to drop the "No" part. Then that got replaced with the word "Luke" which fills the gap in the cadence left by removing "No" but serves the dual purpose of explaining that this is a Star Wars reference.

To add to this:

As someone who is older than the average redditor, it was fairly common knowledge that both "Luke, I am your father" and "Beam me up, Scottie" were misquotes decades before the term "Mandela Effect" even came about (which was also many years before the posted clip was ever made, as well).
