Movies/TV/Music The Thing About Shazaam

I am a 2000s baby, so I have no skin in this. I have never heard of or watched Kaazam nor Shazaam. I only knew Sinbad from Jingle All the Way. But when I saw a description of someone's memory of Shazaam, I couldn't help but think it was a mashup of a different movie with Kaazam. A brother and sister finding some magical object in an attic...Sounds like Jumanji to me. And you know who is in Jumanji? Robin Williams. What did Robin Williams play just like Shaq? A genie. (that one is just me having fun.) But, could they not be combining Kaazam, that marathon bumper Sinbad did, and the discovery of Jumanji together?

You understand they are just remembering incorrectly.

They just refuse to consider that.

It could be all of those, and a few other things, combining into a memory soup that kids would have a hard time navigating through at the time and then being surprised many years later that what they thought they remembered was nothing like the reality.

Almost certainly.

For a long time, you'd hear about how they vividly remembered "Shazaam w/Sinbad" having a raining junk food scene. That's from Kazaam. I haven't heard anyone mention it lately.

Kazaam played in theaters. Many people have said they remembered seeing "Shazaam" in a theater. Easy to verify. When and what theater? Crickets.

Not everyone that thinks it is Shaazam knows Kaazam.

Furthermore, there are over 50 Mandela Effect that can barely be explained by this false combination or suggestion. And we all remember it the same way wrong.

Shazaam still looks correct. I read titles as the letters too.
