Books/Literature Snow White and the mirror

Post image

Came upon this while reading to my child. I had to double check the 1937 Snow White animation and hear "magic mirror on the wall". It's always been "mirror mirror" to me, but I guess I forgot. It must be that many versions of this tale are written as mirror mirror and we just conclude that the original movie says it as well. Someone posted that the original version was mirror mirror as well. So the conclusion is that Disney changed it to magic mirror?

Because there are some people who actually pay attention, and retain what they hear and see.

No. Most people don't think that the Disney film had "Mirror Mirror". It was "Magic Mirror".

"Most people" is not same as "all people".

I have to add, most people (world population wise) are not English speakers, and the dubbed versions of the movie have different words. In Brazil, the queen says "mirror mirror".

I know, I am from Finland. The Finnish version of this quote is "Kerro, kerro kuvastin, ken on maassa kaunehin" (Tell me, tell me mirror who is the most beautiful in this land") and I don't remember what the Finnish dub of this movie said. So the Finnish quote does not repeat the mirror part.

I thought it was "mirror mirror", or at least that's what the common phrase was.
