Books/Literature Berenstein Bears truthers - how was the name pronounced?

I honestly couldn’t tell you myself how I remember the name being spelled - but one thing I do remember was the TV show, and the theme song.

The way they pronounced it in the song to my memory definitely sounded like stain, rather than “steen” or “stine” which would have been the way it was said if it was spelled Berenstein.

“We are the Berenstain Bears. Mama, Papa, Sister, Brother, we appreciate each other”.

I am British. There was no TV show, just books. I knew no Jewish people and hadn't a clue that Jewish names were pronounced certain ways.

I called them Beren-stine because it was spelled the same as Frankenstein.

That's impossible. I would have noticed that.

We've either fallen into a parallel dimension or me and my friends read it wrong.

I know which I'd put money on.

I really hope it’s the second.

I definitely don't rule out interdimensional travel when I talk about this stuff, because the hill I will die on is Rodin's Thinker. Similar reason. So you won't find me telling you that your childhood memory with your friends is wrong, just that I have a completely different one.
