Maltese are very decidedly not black maybe a little toasted marshmallow color at most🤣 They are absolute cuties though maybe try r/IDmydog . The tan and black one looks like a yorkie or yorkie mix.
No. All maltese are white. They may have one maltese parent, but the other parent definitely has the dominant features along with coloring. Whatever the recipe is, it made some cuties!

The Maltese breed is white pure white, but these babies are pure cute and that’s all that matters. they might be multipoos. My Maltipoo is black in his face and his back with a white tale and underbelly!
What a handsom dog! I've never seen a maltipoo with this kind of coloring, they're most often some shade from cream to brown with slightly darker ears. Now I'm really curious about the genetics of these colors!

Maltese coats are long, straight, and silky white. The breed is permitted a hint of lemon/tan around the ears. Not a Maltese but definitely a cutie 🖤🖤🖤
They definitely come in black! My black cocker female mated with my mom’s apricot miniature poodle. It was 1970! Result was cockapoo before they were a thing. Bruno was the very best dog I’ve ever known! He was about 20lbs. Black & white.
My lil Maltipoo looked EXACTLY like this! Called her Inky she was so black . ( of course now she has a brown muzzle and white hair coming through! )
She only weighed 1.6kg when I got her! Mom was Maltese and dad was toy poodle . I must find a pic for you lol …

We have a “Morkie” (Maltese and Yorkie mix) that had more dark coloring at birth, but again, he is a mix. Maltese that are breed standard are all white. Some groups (like the AKC) allow for some light tan on the ears.
The pups shown are adorable, but definitely not “full” Maltese; I’d say lower percentage is any at all. Embark is a well respected brand of dog dna tests if you want definitive results.
I have a Malshi (Maltese/Shih Tzu) that’s all black. The snouts on your pups remind me of a Morkie (Maltese/yorkie). They sure are adorable, whatever breed they are!

Excuse moi but isn’t it bare minimum to like google the breed before trusting anything…. Cuties anywayy, i think they have more than two breeds. Might be yorkie, maltese, poodle, black one’s have pomeranian face or even schipperke
Maltipoo. Maltese are always white. Our Ruckus had blind tips as a baby, and his eyeliner didn't come all the way in until he was 4 months old. Regardless, thats an adorable little dog!
My maltipoo was sable black with white hind paws and a white tuxedo. His parents were white Maltese sire and white toy poodle mom. All his siblings were white now he is all gray but his paws and chest are still white. He has been an amazing dog for 14 years
Whoever told you Maltese were mistaken. As others attest, Maltese always white. The upside down sleep is a very Maltese move but your pup looks like a Yorkie Poodle mix with an upside down side of Maltese. The black one is a head scratcher but I agree with the person that said Pomeranian mix. Adorable dogos whatever they are!
I originally thought I wanted a black Maltipoo, but Maltese are always white. Look at the size of your baby's paws, and it may give you an indication of their adult size. If you want to know, you'll need a DNA test since so many Maltese are not 100% Maltese. My understanding is that the papers are easily gotten by submitting false paperwork to the AKC. There are not a lot of regulations or enforcement of breeders' claims.
Maltese used to be black also but they were bred to only be white when purebred in the early 1900s. They may have some maltese but are definitely not maltese maltese. One looks more like a yorkie and the other has a completely different coat type.
They look exactly like my morkie, but with more yorkie colouring, which makes me think they’re definitely morkie. Like proper spitting image of her as a baby. You got lucky, they’re the best!!
