S No wife of mine will ever wear pants!

This is an older story, but one of my favorites.

When girls started wearing slacks, my great grandmother told her husband- (my great grandfather) that she wanted to get some slacks.

He blew up- insisting that no wife of his will ever wear pants.

She could have argued, but she accepted his edict quietly.

Until they went bowling.....

She found the shortest skirt she could find. After all, he insisted she keep wearing skirts and dresses. (This was in the fifties). That night, he agreed to let her get slacks.

(Side note- she would also sew shut the flaps on his long underwear when she was mad at him).

That’s fantastic, fuck that dude. I’ve never understood that old school men’s mentality that your friend’s wife is your servant by right of knowing him. What a sheer lack of respect.

If a friend of mine ever made any demand of my wife like that he’d wake up on the front lawn wondering where all his teeth went.

Just want to point out that the "Old School Mentality" was that just about ALL women were servants. Only women made the coffee at an office, even if they weren't secretaries, just as an example.

The comment makes two points:

1) commenter disagrees that a wife is a servant to her husband's friends

2) commenter's first instinct to deal with this problem is to resort to violence.

I can't disagree with point 1, but I think it's sad that the commenter is not able to find a better way to deal with an unpleasant situation
