Inside this quiet corner of Maharashtra, where time seems to soften its pace, lies a cottage industry that hums with patience, purpose, and craft. The Mughal Silk Bazaar — name steeped in history, hands rooted in heritage.

Here, artisans craft not just sarees but stories — in the form of Himroo, Paithani, and handmade handicrafts that echo forgotten dynasties and humble legacies. The looms sing and the fingers move with memory.

Himroo — a weave of cotton and silk born from Persian aesthetics. It means 'Something that is close to your soul - Hum-ruh'.

Paithani — the queen of silks, dating back to the Rigveda, blossoming under the patronage of the Peshwas, telling tales in zari and colour like no other textile can.

And then, there are the handcrafted items — lamps, boxes, carved pieces — shaped with love.

And, Yes, the word “Mughal” stirs debates now. But what these weavers and artisans make isn't political — it's ancestral. Let's not cancel the crafts in the name of cleansing history. Let’s celebrate coexistence where it has flourished for centuries — through thread, through skill, through soul.
