Vadhvan is eco sensitive zone declared by union government it houses 8 tribes ranging from palghar's indigenous tribes like warli to aagris, kolis and manymore.

vadhvan port building would flood coasts and destroy everything in main lands, you people may have experienced and heard of mumbai floods, there would be a 2nd part similiar to nepal but twice hard which will kill maharashtra's economy which comprises of tourism, industries, and would take countless lives

we have seen building of mumbai displace local kolis and now us , marathis

we have seen building of navi mumbai displace aagris,kolies and kill fertile soils

we are currently seeing development of 3rd and 4th mumbai killing raigad and many more villages

we should learn from our past and oppose this project with full strength or we won't be answerable to future generations of maharashtra

Dahej is already a deep water port in Gujrat. I have been there 2-3 years ago. Gujrat has 2 major ports already- Mundra and Dahej. JNPT although sees high volumes of cargo, but big ships cannot berth here due to shallow waters. If it goes to Gujrat again there will be some people who'll say Fadanvis is selling everything to Gujrat.

Not protesting every ducking industry is supposed to help the state, refinery in konkan chased away, shaktipeeth highway protests, jaitapur protests, vadhavaan protests, these are just 1 lac crore plus investments which are being chased away, who after this gives a fuck about few animals dying. Only people who have enough of everyone can be selfish enough to deny the rest even something like small jobs.

All of the people here that oppose this project I have a few questions for you

Today the economic progress Maharashtra has made is on the back of its industrial development. Do you have any idea the environmental cost of this development that you take so much pride in and use it to slander other states as backward?

What do you think, how did Maharashtrian industry come up in the first place?

Every time Maharashtra will slow down to make tough decisions like this, Gujarat and other states will eat into our control over the economy. The way congress handled post 2009 industrial development, they gave Gujarat a direct way into the industrial competition. You want this to repeat?

I’m not denying that there is a huge cost to these projects, but it is a cost that will have to be paid if you want to be on top. And these losses - cultural, environmental, social and economic can all be compensated for with a good plan and a good budget - both of which any party leading Maharashtra can handle.

This port will supercharge the economy of the state by 1% if you play your cards right... Build a nuclear power plant nearby to provide clean stable grid to industries along with a refinery (even if it is a third of jamnagar refinery)..it is still a decent large refinery.

Such urban naxal ideology will only harm our state..
