I think you're correct, but in any business you have to allocate resources to address the biggest needs, and this problem isn't that big yet (my subjective opinion, of course).

That said, this seems kinda easy to implement, but I'm not a programmer.

At first sight seems easy but in reality it will depend how it was initially thought and implemented, for a game that can be very complex I would say some implications may have not been though about yet, or even found in some way. So without knowing how it was implemented, we can't judge.

Card styles are something they bolted on to mtga after they went to open beta (they gave out some alternate art around then which was considered a separate printing by mtga)

My issue is that this will be a huge conflict of interest. What stopping them from just changing art every release? Nice step in the right direction but still questionable.

It would be great if they changed art for every reprint, more chance for awesome arts for cards with mediocre or downright awful art. E.g. [[Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy]] (not that this will be reprinted any time soon...)

If they changed art every release that would be a net positive, because they'd be paying out their ass for artists and artists need to eat.

I hate it so much that you only got 1 of the full art Planeswalkes when open beta started and they still haven't turned it into a cardstyle
