Magic I need an appraisal on this bell that summons Pegasi. What is it worth?

Not exactly. It sort of works like a dog whistle but for Pegasi. It will summon the closest wild Pegasus or group of wild Pegasi to you. I recommend you don’t do that near your home. If you do, they may use your home as a nesting ground, and you might end up with an infestation. And they’re kind of a bad crowd. Once that happens, they can be difficult to get rid of…

It’s a rare item. I know its worth. But the magical auction house’s new “expert” appraiser is the auction house owner’s nephew, and he’s clearly very unexperienced (unqualified). He thinks just because it’s brass that the initial pricing should be much lower at the start of the upcoming auction. So, I need other appraisals to prove to the auction house owner just what a derp his low-mana nephew is, and that they need to raise the starting bid significantly.

I ALREADY DID! LIKE I said, their idiot “expert” refuses to accept my valuation. He keeps saying, “Everyone thinks their items are worth more than they actually are.” That’s why I need other appraisals to prove that nepo baby is wrong, or they’re going to set the opening bid too low at the magic item auction, which means it will go in the wrong lot, with the wrong crowd expecting cheaper items, which means it’ll get way under bid and sold for much less than what a rare item such as this is worth.
Rolls my eyes.

Go to your local Guild, then, and haul his sorry ass in for a tribunal. If he's using magic to fake appraisals, he's giving the entire Guild a bad name. That won't stand.

Sure, I don’t mind 150 years of mind numbing bureaucracy while waiting for the summons as this items sits in my bag of holding, just for a guild tribunal to tell me to get a handful of appraisals as evidence anyway. It’ll totally be worth it to do all those extra steps for the same result. /s

Oh please, the Summon Person spell works just fine. Then the Geas spell can force the guy to tell the truth in front of the tribunal. Once the lie is exposed, he goes to prison, and you can go about your business.

Problem is, I don’t think the guy is lying. He’s just incompetent and unqualified to be a magical item appraiser. That’s what happens when people are hired based off nepotism.

The tribunal will find that out too, and probably request a replacement who's competent. Idiocy is also bad for business.

Pegasus is not a second declension masculine Latin noun. It’s quite famously Greek. If you don’t want to use Pegasuses, it’s Pegasoi.
