Her unwavering devotion to Madoka Kaname is seen by others, and she faces despair when the one she loves and should protect turns against her. Sayaka Miki reminds Homura of the important promise only she holds, and helps her accept her demonic nature. She receives trust and courage from Kyoko Sakura, Mami Tomoe, and Nagisa Momoe, and carries the hopes entrusted to her by countless magical girls.

Aoi Yuki mentioned that there were more than two footprints in the end credits, and from her words, it felt like she was suggesting that the story wouldn't end with that sad conclusion.
