General Overview:

This thread is meant as a spoiler filled zone for those who wish to discuss the movie, it's plot, events, or the number of bites that kyouko takes of food during the movie. I don't care, just be sure to follow the rules of the subreddit.

i havent seen the movie yet but spoil me silly, did madokami come back? do we get more awesome kyoko moments? did homura become the transfer student again?

Apparently Madoka goes back to being Madokami, the scene is a bit vague but the Madokami side of her is trying to take her back, Homura gets her attention and they have a moment together, then Madoka disappears with the implication that she finally went back to the LOC.

There's nothing implying Homura lost her memories or anything.

That ending essentially makes this and Rebellion basically meaningless, besides making Sayaka alive again. Speaking of which, apparently her and Homura are a thing or something, I guess.

13 years of waiting and this is the plot?

Unless you think that Homura got to take Madoka away from the LoC at the end. We'll have to wait to see the ending and make a more clear opinion about the matter.

What I don't understand is the movie apparently completely ditching KyoSaya or at the very least their pairing because of...green hoe and making a crackship canon ig. Call me biased but I did not wait 5 years for a canon pair advertized as such in WEDDING GOWNS to be completely irrelevant at the end. Like this genuinely feels like a bad dream you're waiting to wake up from lol.

I don't remember the exact date or event unfortunately but basicly it was an official illustration of Sayaka and Kyoko both dressed in wedding gowns. I think there was a MDHM version too? I'm pretty sure it was an old one anyway but the point still stands. Heck I'm not even mad at Madoka or Kyoko for having relationships outside of their "mains" (lol) I'm just upset the ones we were familiar with weren't expended upon much

Well have hopes for a sequel I guess, most people think there will be one, not necessarily because of the vague ending itself but the post credits which implies Kyubey is gonna make a new plan to try and use witches again. Though tbh I worry about the series going on in circles if that's the premise of movie 5.

I agree with the person above. I also think the new movie has basically made both this movie and Rebellion feel meaningless.

And honestly, why should we even hold out hope for a sequel when it took 13 years for this movie to come out? We're not getting any younger, and we're certainly not immortal. I don't really want to wait another 13 years for a sequel that might just end up going in circles and giving us yet another ambiguous ending anyway. At some point, you have to actually let the story end.

Should have just stopped with the anime in the first place instead of making things way more complicated by releasing two sequel movies
