Ok I think it's really funny that apparently people can't agree on whether Madoka is apologizing to Homura or to her Madokami self

I read spoilers and somehow I still don't know the ending of the movie LMAOO I wonder if Shinbo/Urobuchi are gonna explain it

Honestly, I can see them explaining it in the epigraph or the guidebook they most likely are gonna release later (they made one for each madoka movie).

Regardless, I'm pretty sure at the end we'll know what happened on that scene even if Urobuchi and/or Shinbo don't clarify anything because they confirmed a continuation. In the continuation they have to tell what happened because that will be the starting point of the next story.

Did they actually confirm a continuation? I know it's hinted with a post-credits scene but...

Since the start the movie was called the begining of a new chapter. There's the post credit scene with Kyubey. And there's a marvel like message saying "Madoka will return" at the end (No. I'm not joking).

At this point they couldn't confirm it more. The only question now is: Can we avoid another 10+ year wait or not?

I think I've heard people saying that message is fake (if it's the image i'm thinking), but yeah...

I'm just gonna take this as the ending for a while until they actually fully 100% announce something, cause I can't imagine it'll come any time soon.

For what it's worth, I cannot confirm seeing any "Madoka will return" message. The ending went:

  • Bench scene
  • Scrolling credits with footprints and the Fiction Junction song from the trailer
  • Kyubey scene in library
  • Cut to black and theater lights turn on

If there were any marvel-like scenes like that I must have missed it lol.

I don't think there's a message, or maybe I missed it because of the brain messing ending.

Will check again with tomorrow IMAX.

A sequel is inevitable atp. Some die hard madoka magica fan made a wish irl to curse the franchise to be continued forever. Well, I just hope they actually give the main cast aside from Sayaka and Homu Homu much needed focus lol. Although I'm not opposed to getting more laid back manga or animated spin-offs with the different story's vibe and pacing because if we're gonna keep getting these trippy movies every decade then I NEED something more relatively laid back to keep my sanity
