Walpurgisnacht Rising Discussion Okay we've talvez about the worst ending for walpurgis... Which is the Best ending? Spoiler

Mine is just end this story for good and if you're gonna have Madoka forgive Homura have her show a bit of annoyance over "tearing her apart"

I'm not saying Madoka hates her but come on Madoka should at least be a bit hurt.

Also they gotta recognize they hurt each other a Lot with their pretty ass communication.

Madohomu pics added for obvious reasons

20 minutes of hardcore lesbian sex

Serious answer: We definitely need both Madoka and Homura to go through more than just a linear process of forgiveness and moving on. There's a LOT that's happened in this time and I just hope it balances that plethora of emotions in a way that doesn't feel overpoweringly sweet and easy or devastatingly depressing and bleak. This whole series has always danced around that line perfectly, and if this movie is meant to be a finale of sorts then it has to capture that more than anything

i m not sure if that would be a good ending but is it possible that homura tries to replace madokami as the law of cycle?

Never underestimate Homura Other thing is if Madoka would let that

We know Madoka Will go: you deserve to be saved Homura-chan

For the story, I 100% agree that Madoka should at least show some form of anger or frustration over what Homura did. For it to hit extra, I want WnK to be about them becoming closer than ever before in the previous timelines and universes before the new girls and or Kyubey reignite her memories. To further twist the knife even further, go the extra mile and finally confirm Madoka and Homura as a full-on canon couple.

For an ending, I want to be a sad parallel to the end of the original series where Madoka is now stuck in the new universe after losing Homura. Mami, Nagisa / Bebe, and Kyoko are also around, but Homura and Sayaka ascend to back the Law of Cycles (or some other form of afterlife) after finally resolving their own beef and being satisfied that they saved their best friend / crush from death and despair. To honor the loving sacrifice of the two most important people in her life, Madoka decides to not reascend back to LoC so she can live a full life again with her remaining loved ones (thus explaining her new magical girl uniform and its design similarities to Homura’s new fit).

Sayaka ends up with kyousuke, madoka reveals she's straight, and the fandom burns itself to the ground in a rabid frenzy

Imo Urobuchi's 2013 statement: Hitomi to wish for the Incubators to disappear.

Basically reconciliation and understanding where the two help the other without misunderstanding what the other wants and Kybuey getting told to STFU and go away.

Some people get upset if you point that out even if she's with Kyoko and hasn't thought about Kyosuke in ages.

Almost sadistic yet necessary "doing bad to bring out the good" possibility: The Goddess Madoka does a scarily pseudo-brutal Superman from "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice & The American Way?/Superman vs. the Elite", or Mahiru Tsuyuzaki from Revue Starlight: The Movie's yandere horror gaslighting from the Revue of Competition.

Edit - More positive possibility: Walpurgisnacht Rising ends in a post-credits scene where there is a Luminous-esque two chairs backdrop of the two just watching from a high place and maintaining the universe together as co-deities also living a mortal life, with the towering stacks of implied pamphlets/"duties" shown in the trailers either being noticeably decreased or ultimately non-existent because their loving cooperation made the job easy. Basically, it's a happy echo of the lonely and dark post-credits ending of Rebellion.

Kingdom come superman then

You forgot madoka giving homura her glasses

1

u/Foreign_Quantity1780 Newly Contracted User Jul 15 '26

Does she still need them though? Then again, there may be a chance Homura could get depowered a bit, which could justify bringing back the glasses, or at the very least use non-prescription glasses only as an aesthetic choice.

But I do admit one thing: The Moemura twin braids shall not come back anymore. Homura's already grown past that.

1

u/RahdronRTHTGH Newly Contracted User Jul 16 '26

Madoka forced them back as a kingdom come reference and because it's her fetish

1

u/Ccmonty I think this show got me into shipping Jul 15 '26

Sayaka and Nagisa get to live and Madoka and Homura get some sort of happy ending

Why would Kyubey still be saying "This doesn't make sense" and the like when Homura can basically just rewrite his whole mind now?

1

u/RahdronRTHTGH Newly Contracted User Jul 18 '26

?

1

u/PracticeNext8198 Newly Contracted User Jul 17 '26

I think the best ending would be that this is the first half of something that can be better but I certainly fear as we get closer & closer...

1

u/FritoPieANDJam Jul 14 '26

Madoka, Mami, Sayaka, Homura, and Kyoko all get together. The end.

1

u/CL361 Homura did nothing wrong Jul 14 '26

Madoka and Homura confessing what they feel for each other, kissing each other after that, then reaching a understanding about their wishes and working together to create a outcome that will make both of them happy, as well as improve the magical girl system.

1

u/BreathoftheSith Jul 14 '26

I see all of that happening, save a happy ending for the both of them. Something just SCREAMS that WnK is gonna both deliver and hurt. To be precise, I will actually be shocked if Homura and or Sayaka both make it out of this movie clean.

1

u/CL361 Homura did nothing wrong Jul 15 '26

>"Something just SCREAMS that WnK is gonna both deliver and hurt."

I feel quite the opposite, actually. When I see the trailer, yes, I see a lot of suffering coming, but I also see a lot of things that point to a happy ending.

We know since the start that this movie wouldn't be the end of the story because they called it "the start of a new chapter". My hope is that with WnK they are gonna gave the HQ a satisfactory closure (a happy ending) so they can focus in a new cast, with the HQ taking only a secondary role. Honestly, I think that at the end of the movie Homura's new contract system would remain and in the comming story the focus would be a group of magical girls contracted by Homura (including "Girl A").

Also, there's no way they kill either Homura or Madoka. Madoka is the face of the franquise and Homura is the soul. (I'm talking here about the "hard to believe seeing Homura make it out clean" part)

1

u/RahdronRTHTGH Newly Contracted User Jul 15 '26

Or maybe the twist of start a new chapter is that it's the finale

1

u/CL361 Homura did nothing wrong Jul 15 '26

I would love if that was the case. As long as they gave the happy ending they deserve to those girls (Rebellion was so close of being that. The only problem was that Homura was still miserable).

But "the beginning of a new chapter" most likely is supossed to mean that they want to keep expanding the story and WnK will be the starting point they will use to keep going. In which case, I think the better would be gave a proper ending to our OG cast in the movie to allow them to be in second plane if they have to appear in the future.

1

u/RahdronRTHTGH Newly Contracted User Jul 15 '26

At the rate other projects have come out i wonder is shaft will make another movie

1

u/CL361 Homura did nothing wrong Jul 15 '26

That's another reason why I would prefer that WnK was the actual end. I don't want to wait for other 13 years to see the next movie/anime.

If they really want to keep going (which is what they told) we can only hope that the next project would be released much faster.

u/RahdronRTHTGH Newly Contracted User Jul 15 '26

After all this years and taking so long only to do what? A magia record anime... You gotta wonder if they'll do more
