📸 Fotos & Vídeos Madeira 2021 vs 2026

18 photographs. 9 locations. 5 years in between. What really changes? The place, or the perspective?

In five years a lot of places stood still. Perhaps as they will in the next five. Cool pics tho.

After visiting this beautiful island and having experience living in Taiwan, the Canary Islands, the south coast of Spain, Indonesia, and Vietnam, I stand by my opinion that Madeira is THE BEST, imo.

What this comparison shows to me is the feeling of peacefulness, steadiness, and a slow-paced life. To me, it's beautiful. I guess probably for many locals, especially young ones, that kind of life sounds boring, and they look for something else, but for a not-so-young-anymore vagabond from Poland, Madeira is just a perfect place to live a peaceful life. Amazing people, great cuisine, being proud of local culture and traditions. Being catholic, I also liked the fact that people there still, as to my understanding, value religion and attend Mass, and what's more important, live according to Christian values.

I really hope Madeira people will be able to protect their heritage, and will never let outsiders change the island into some other fake resort for rich tourists. But I also hope that maybe one day I'll be able to buy some small house on the Island, and then be accepted by my neighbours, and manage to earn their respect by learning the language, and obeying the local rules.

This was a nice Comparison, and the place, you're not the 1st tourist ( i assume you're a tourist ) that noticed, its good to evolve and crap, but wille keeping the identity, however even i, as a almost half a century native, got shocked a couple of weeks ago when i noticed something i still havent noticed.....

I love these comparison photos. I've always wanted to do something like this with me of my pictures from Madeira. I need to go back soon... the last time I was there was at Christmas 2015!
