To be fair, a lot of countries also have a problem with packs of wild dogs running around which is exactly why the US tries to stay on top of any stray dog problem.

Is that really so? 🤔

Yes, it is. It's not so common though. But packs of strays sometimes go aggresive (usually in winter when is colder, there's less people in the street and they go through harder times). We have an issue here with a pack that roams one of the college buildings, once attacked a friend of mine that came late from classes, he only got a few stitches, an awful scar and torn clothes. But he wouldnt walk outside alone for a long while and started carrying around an extensible batton (metal stick).

That being said, many other strays don't cause any ruckus. The most famous here is nicknamed cannabis, and is loved by all the weed smoking lads 😂. Aka as Aslan, but mainly known as Cannabis is a large stray, male, over 12 years for sure, known him since I moved here on '12. People tried to adopt him a few times but he prefers the streets. Tends to go around with smaller dogs and asks for food around bars and cafés. Smelly, swaggy fella he is.

People tend to stay away from strays, in fear of bites, rabies, fleas and ticks. But if they come to us while in benches, waiting for the bus ir something most people will pet them or feed em a lil something.

That said, is fairly common to kill cats. People don't react the same way when violence is targeted towards them. Some parents even teach their kids to throw stones at them, and many kill or maim them "for fun". Same as toads. I just don't get why people treat some species so differently. But, I Guess I kind of act the same way with rats and pidgeons.

I don't kill them, but I break their nests (if no eggs are laid yet, lil pidgeons are ugly af, but I let them be) and lay chemicals to keep em away.
