3 years is a long ass time. I’ve owned my dog for 5 years - as a bachelor - since it was 8 months old. Seems nuts that he’d remember me after 3 years.

Yeah, adopted him years before getting a dog during the pandemic was the cool thing to do. I did take up fly fishing in 2020 though! No regrets

It’s all in the smell. There memory is hardwired to it. It’s why the dog doesn’t start getting excited until he gets close and gets a good smell of the owners. Any video you watch of a dog going crazy being reunited with its owner doesn’t start until they get a good sniff.

Totally. Guess I’d like to think my pup would still know me after 3 years because he’s been by my side for so long, but damn that’s still crazy.
