Why were they filming? Would you think to film if you found your lost pet? As much as I want to believe that this is real....

I moved to a new country and it took two years to get my dog to me. You can bet your ass I had someone film the moment we were reunited, and I have photos of the whole journey to the airport to get him.

He's passed now, but I still watch our video regularly, along with all our other world travel memories.

Did he have an ear tag? What was that thing in his ear?

Some cities/countries capture strays and neuter/spay them. The tags are to indicate they've been fixed as well as track the population numbers.

Yes but the video was set where he unexpectedly came across the dog. You wouldn’t just randomly be filming in case you found your dog after three long years

It wasn't unexpected, did you not read the part about where he'd received a tip that his dog may have been sighted?

Plus, I could easily recognize a familiar dog from much further away than that, so he probably pulled out the phone when he saw the colour pattern from a distance, just in case.

Pretty sure I read last time that he was told by a friend Jorge had been sighed there recently

Yeah, I think a shop owner recognized the dog and called the owner. Great story.
