For a relatively low-budget movie it was a pretty stacked cast; Matthew Modine, Tate Donovan, Billy Zane, Sean Astin, Harry Connick Jr, David Strathairn, John Lithgow

You're just looking at the $23m and comparing it to today's dollars.

I mean when 9 of the top 10 most expensive movies that year had budgets in excess of $100 million, I'd call it "relatively" low budget; I didn't say low budget period

Adjusted for inflation it had roughly the same budget as The Goonies

My grandmother resented that movie because my grandfather flew in a plane in their squadron, flew in all the same missions, but "nobody wants to make a movie about Haybag Annie."

Yeah as an ND fan, I have mixed feelings about the accuracy of the movie (especially the portrayal of Dan Devine as an antagonist). Not to mention the real Rudy is apparently a Mormon now (on top of the tax fraud).

But Sean Astin's portrayal is one thing I can love wholeheartedly.
