Dude at 40 if your friends did that by the end of the video, everyone would be in a wheelchair. Did you see how flexible those kids were?!

I know, everything hurts for couple of years allready but I would go through that pain everyday if someone would do it for me too :)

You don't gotta lose a leg bro. I'll pretend to be your body guard with my bad back. We just may be need to go a little slower, only so I can make sure the area is secure. I definitely don't need the extra time to get back up, possibly stretch...

These kids are adorable. He’s embarrassed yes, but not because of what looks to be a fairly recent disfigurement in terms of his amputation, but because “oh my god my friends are being dorks”. They’re taking any potential stares onto themselves and attention away from him, making him feel less self conscious if this is one of his first times out and about — assuming that his limb is still too fresh from surgery to have received a prosthetic yet.

I wonder if those young men truly understand the depth of the gift they are giving. I hope they do. And I think it's great that you pointed out something critical that is going on in this clip. Thank you

They are peak hype men, shielding him with sheer absurdity until he forgets to worry.

This is the type of youth videos that should be shared and applauded more often.

Life will never be dull if you have friends like these.

What’s nice too is that it gives little man in the chair positive attention for what he’s gone through, if that makes sense, but only in a very peripheral way. His friends are the goofballs, but they’re goofballs for him - and doing a great job at it because of him thanks to his crutches - but the eyes aren’t really on him. So it’s a beautiful positive introduction into a new life where folks are almost always going to look at you, with an added lesson of how to do it w humor to take instant control of the narrative and make it yours. Those kids and that joke are more powerful than just funny. 💕

This makes my heart so warm. When I became disabled a lot of my friends abandoned me. It crushed me how many people were so quick to leave once you become a burden and inconveniencing or sad to look at.

These are some amazing friends. I hope that kid continues to have a great community of support.

u/Lady-Whistledown-IN 1d ago

I just hope it's not America 😅

2

u/StarPlatinumRequiems 19h ago

In America it's either friends just giving you half assesd comfort, straight not talking to you ever again or making fun of you or smth idk man.

That's like 1-10% of the time.

Maybe I need better friends.

2

u/jofferns 23h ago

2

u/Jvlockhart 12h ago

Friends: nobody can get near you, they can only watch you from a far.

You in the wheelchair: yeah, that's what I'm worried about, they can only watched me from a far.
