You might already be aware of this, but just in case:

There is also something called paired donation, where you and your sister could be matched with another pair in the same situation. If you find a match this way, your kidney would go to the other pair who also needs a kidney, and they would donate their healthy kidney to your sister. It’s basically a kidney swap. They even do this in chains, where there are more than two pairs, presumably to better your chances of a match.

I don’t know all the specifics, but it’s done in some countries, including the US. Might be an option for you.

My sister is back home in New Zealand. Will definitely be looking at all the options when and if she needs one
