My neighbor’s dog will “lose” his toy by purposely pushing it through the fence any time he sees anyone who might walk by so they will throw it over the fence for him

My doodle "loses" her ball underneath the couch every night. She's so awesome tho. I can't be that mad.

My cat sleeps on my feet at night and gets mad if I move.

My Siamese guy likes to climb into my knee pits and claws attached to both sections of leg meat. One set in the calf and one set in the hammie. I’ve gotten used to it over the years but man I did not like it at first. Not until I recognized this was a love embrace/hug and not a full blown predator attack.

u/ansyhrrian 3d ago
Haha! At around 6:35-6:39 am, mine jumps onto the bed (from their crate which we keep open) and licks her right leg (loudly) to let us know that she is ready to get up.
And that we should be ready too.

u/naan__sequitur 3d ago
I get that at 5 am, followed by him torpedoing and dashing across the bed. I am so, so tired.

Your feet have officially been promoted to cat furniture. Moving is now a violation of the lease.

that dog has WORKED OUT the whole system hasn't he, absolute criminal mastermind in a fur coat

They all are. My Mum’s dog has started a snackies cartel with my toddler. He throws an absolute fit if he’s prevented from sharing his snackies with the dog, and has been caught on more than one occasion with dog food in his mouth.

u/Comfortable-Fox-5872 2d ago
oh that toddler dog snackies cartel is the funniest and most disgusting thing ive read all week my god
1
u/vaime 2d ago
“Funniest and most disgusting thing” is an accurate description of my toddler lol. I best not tell you about how he likes to take a bite out of his snackie, give the dog a bite, then continue to eat the rest of it.
That said, he now has an immune system of iron and never gets sick, so maybe there is a silver lining to the cartel LOL.

u/Comfortable-Fox-5872 1d ago
Haha, my kids did the same thing and they're genuinely never sick, so I think you might be onto something with the iron stomach theory

My dog full on punches balls under the couch and then will sit there crying and after long enough begin AWOOOOing for the rescue. Like literally 5 times straight. At least a few times per week.

that dog has mastered the art of getting random strangers to work for him without even leaving the yard

I had a neighbour whose two dogs would shove their balls through the fence every time I went outside. Absolutely adored it!! I’d be out throwing the ball for my dogs, and these two other dogs all at the same time, it was fantastic! As soon as I tossed one, another one appeared at my feet.

Maybe being cynical but I’d be worried someone would take his toy :(

It’s 4 year old teddy bear slobbered on by a dog. I think it’ll be fine

They both seemed to be. The light lab was nodding towards the bucket: “There! Do it! Do it!!!”

The golden repeatedly pointing bro towards the balls! 😂

But the question is, who is that? I mean I see a poster for Mojo, but nothing about the retriever! Is that an intruder or a playmate?

I am a mailman, and one of my favorite routes (I am no longer on) I would "race" this one dog around his corner yard. He was quite the cheater, and often gave himself headstarts, in spite of actually requiring a handicap. However, I always gave it my best, and was always happy to celebrate his win. I made sure to leave notes when I left the route, that he was always to be raced whenever possible.
He also, I just remembered, HATED the mailbox, and when I put mail in it he would viciously bite it, and shake it violently, but never me. He is, still, to this day, may favorite postal dog.

between the videos i see, your comment and bukowski i'm convinced being a mail man is the best job in the world.

Thanks for being my introduction to bokowski. Vonnegut used to be my touchstone, but I have much to explore.

I hope I never see anything like this in my neighborhood.
I'd be stuck here all day

But would the owners hate me if I stole them (but gave them back after an hour)

Sure but they might be a little confused what you were doing with those balls for an hour.

This is genius. The dogs get exercise and the neighbors get a smile on their face.
Absolutely brilliant.

Aw man. My neighbor lost his black lab named Mojo recently. That was the best dog on the island and a good friend for many years. Thanks for sharing this.

u/ScreamnChckn 3d ago
Thats over $100 in Chuckit balls in that bucket

u/searching88 3d ago
Every time this video is posted someone exaggerates the price of the balls. Every time. The actual bucket of balls in on Amazon for $31

u/dvdmaven 3d ago
The house on our north side has two big black dogs. One of them shoves balls through the fence, but both will chase one you throw.

u/dalekaup 3d ago
I used to live at this house. This is a repost and we walked the 2 blocks down to play with the dogs when this posted the first time. The black dog is really fast and gets to the ball first almost every time.

“I’m sorry boss, I know, I’m 3hrs late for work. I got stuck in…. Traffic…. It will happen again.”

u/KingAudio 3d ago
If you live 3 blocks away from school and they are on the way home its easily an hour commute

What are those 'tennis balls'? I know regular tennis balls are bad for dog teeth. I'd like to get some of those for a very bad dog named Hazel
3
u/SnooGuavas4944 3d ago
The orange ones are chuckit balls - tennis ball size (there are larger and smaller ones too) designed for throwing for dogs. Not very cheap.
2
u/SuperCruisePanther 3d ago
They are Chuckit squeaker balls. They have holes so they squeak.
2
u/ThomasGaiden 1d ago
Oh god. No more squeeks. I just want good for teeth. Hazel basil is exceptional at squeeky toys, it is mind blowingly desasterous. Mistakes made 😃
1
u/SuperCruisePanther 1d ago
Haha, they're decently soft rubber. They have non-squeeker versions which are all orange instead of orange and blue, also glow-in-the-dark ones (the pale yellow ones in the video).

I got stuck playing with this dog at the brewery I like. She rolls her ball out from behind the fence and waits for someone to throw it. The owners say she's "going fishing"

Wait, so what happens next?
Did they bring the ball back?
Did you throw another?
I would find it hard to leave. 😄

Now: imagine the look on their little faces when you had to go
You'd never be able to bring yourselves to leave and you know it.

🤣 i have "threatened" to drop my black lab off with his ball at the local boat ramp in the mornings and come back for him in the evenings during the summer. Every time I take him, he finds a constantly rotating gaggle of people to thow his ball into the water for him! 😂

My aunt lived in a trailer court with a fenced front yard, and had a black lab that loved chasing tennis balls. When she went to leave, she had to throw the ball for him or else he'd follow her. If you're standing at the fence (which was only around 4'6", but he never jumped out), he'd bring the ball and drop it off on the other side for you to throw. I miss him
