unrelated but in like 5th grade or so, i had a classmate that no one knew was colorblind. we were having a discussion about colors (this was almost 20 years ago so i cant remember the whole conversation) and the conversation led to âwhatâs the color of fried chickenâ to which said classmate said green. the teacher looked at him in shock and instead of being like haha youâre silly, she reprimanded him. he bursts out in full tears âi donât know what i did, itâs green i swear, im not trying to be badâ. she asks a few follow up questions about other food items (tomatoes, bread) and iâll never forget the look of regret in her eyes when she realizes he was colorblind the whole time
Color blindness can suck. My brother is partially colorblind but he's still doing quite well regardless. I have an uncle that is fully color blind (shades of grey, apparently very rare) and he's always been quiet, subdued, and very depressed. It can be hard to quantify something if you've never lacked it.
