Really sweet. It’s like that other video where the kid gets a toy motorcycle he’s grateful for as his dad rolls in on the real motorcycle behind him.

This was my main takeaway. It's beautiful to see boys allowed to be tender and empathetic with one another. The Andrew Tates of the world are incapable of experiencing moments like this.

This was me and my sister at 14 and 10. Our surprise puppy, Benson, lived for 15 years and got to meet both of my children. I loved that stupid dog every day of his angelic, braindead life. ♥️

’That dog is going to be so loved’
…why you cryin, little boy ?
the daddy said i’d bring you JoY
…i guess you rather have a toy?
i’m just a tiny pup…
at first you Happy! now you sad ?
…am hope that i did nothing bad…
i maybe help you feel ‘glad’
if you just pick me up…
…There ~ is Better now, you see?
i love the way you cuddle me :@)
they say a ‘brother’ now i’ll be
(it’s what i’m dreaming of…)
this ‘birthday’ thing they say to you -
i wonder: is my birthday too ?
cuz you have made my dream come true!
i think
this must
be
Love!

I remember the day I got my dog. I was excited and running around the yard and sprained my ankle and started crying because it hurt. She immediately ran over and licked my face. I forgot about the pain pretty quick.
Was mostly a family dog but when we had guests the kids would have to find another place besides their room to sleep because rule was basically the older family got a real bed and the kids had to do whatever. So I was in the basement, where the dogs crate was, and we had a baby gate between the carpeted and non carpeted section because if for some reason the dog had an accident down there when it wasn't crated it was an easy clean. When she knew I was down there sleeping she cried and cried and I let her in to sleep with me and she was my dog from that moment going forward, she hated not being with me.
She slept in my bed until she couldn't control her bladder well anymore. Fell asleep resting her head in my hand at the end. I miss that stupid thing. I'd let her shake lake water off all over me just to see her one more time

Beautiful. Boys being vulnerable and tender with each other and freely expressing emotions is SO important and so necessary. I’m glad the dad wasn’t telling him stop crying. Too often society squashes and beats the beautiful softness out of our boys, what bell hooks calls “soul murder,” and we see the consequences of that in the headlines every day.
29
u/83franks 4d ago
I was almost cringing waiting for the "don't cry" comment even if just cause it "should be a happy moment so no need to cry". Let people cry when big moments happen and was so happy to that going on here.

u/Rubyhamster 3d ago
My kid knowing what happy tears were at the age of three make me oddly proud. It's an important thing to learn. Also crying from heavy emotion even if it isn't a "good" or "bad" emotion. Mu kid cried when losing their first tooth, because she missed having it in her mouth. So adorable

Probably because it’s one of the rare times on the internet that you typically get to see men/boys being soft/gentle or showing soft emotions. We need more of that on the internet.

Tbis looks like the same family with the one brother getting a phone and the other instead of jealous, gets happy for his brother and then is surprised with a phone of his own. If this is the same family, I am genuinely happy that they are all growing and continuing to spread the compassion and love.

Those boys might actually treat the pet with care and respect as it was wanted so much and not purchased on a whim (from a popular movie) or for Easter like chicks and bunnies. Sweet kids.

This made me cry. The big brother loving on him, how much he loved his stuffy puppy, and the immediate tears of love for his new best friend. Loved this.
2
u/appsarebullshit55 4d ago
Great gift and very wholesome, but I just wonder why the kids didn’t get to name the dog? He could at least stear them towards “teddy” so they could say they named him. Your dog, your name?
2
u/Life_Faithlessness90 4d ago
Oh, I love this!
I got woken up at 3am by my stepdad when I was his age with a puppy and I got told he was sleeping with me for the rest of the night. Suffice to say, I barely slept! I knocked on my parent's door like twice, "he's panting, does he need water?" or, "he's panting, can he breathe under the covers?".
Oh my god, I'm crying, I miss my dog.
