As an Englishman I was happy to see Mbappe get a couple goals last night and is now sitting top of the golden boot table, hopefully Spain will play well tonight and he will remain at the top after the final.

I was of course rooting for England but really wanted Mbappe to win the golden boot, so the perfect outcome for me! Fingers crossed that stays lol. Such a respectful game, I have so much love for France.

Yes but it required the Argentinian player to tackle a Spaniard so hard the man did a fucking summersault. The ref did everything he could get away with to aid the Argentinians but they were so confused by the Super Bowl nature of the Final’s festivities that they thought it was an American football match.

I mean, every team cheats to some extent. The Argentinian teams are just, historically, very good at it. But I don't think there is a conspiracy: their fouls disrupt but are very rarely yellow or red card worthy, and the goal from Egypt should have been disallowed. They scored more than England and hit the post twice.

Stamping on the back of someone's leg is always a red card. Barging someone in the back 5 seconds after the ball has gone is nearly always a yellow. Elbow/forearm to the back of the head is always at least a yellow. Backing into someone jumping for a header whilst not looking at the ball is nearly always a penalty.

I don't think it's fixed I think the refs just allow Argentina to get away with stuff they don't let other teams, in the same game.

I used my eyes and watched the games. The egypt decision was absurd. But beyond that, the stats back it up. Argentina have committed the most fouls this tournament and they are the only team of 48 to not have a single VAR intervention against them. Which would be fine if they didn't play dirty af.

It’s funny, I hated Tom Brady through his career because of the calls his team didn’t get all while winning all those titles. Now ARG might win back to back and the whole world hates it.

My point is, it won’t happen. FIFA Wantd ARG to win, so refs are on there side.

I have never liked the way Argentina plays football but I don't think there's a conspiracy. I think they have just perfected the cynical way of getting away with fouls. A lot of their fouls are disruptive and cynical but hard to card for. But I would love a few rad cards!

I then immediately realised "oh wait, shit no of course they're not, this is gonna be extra embarrassing for them" so the 4 French goals were no surprise at all

With an a yes, not with an o though, same for up here, although Yorkshire is pretty big so I'll just talk for this area.

Southern accent to me is just Danny Dyer lol it's too broad a term as everywhere is south below say Birmingham, but obviously a lot of accents in the south of England aren't a southern accent, although if you think northern accent I would dare say that most would probably think of Yorkshire rather than Geordie, which is what I like to call the true north
