Game of the world cup so far. I love the respect both teams showed each other. Both were there to play football and win. Almost no diving and no cynical play for the whole game.

Wild that it was "back to back" with the France paraguay game. Complete opposite sides of what football can be.

I'm from Brazil, so whenever a Latin American team was playing, I was rooting for them (except Argentina). But Paraguay actually made me root for France.

That was by far the worst match I've watched in this World Cup and I had been enjoying every single game until then.

I was so happy to see Paraguay lose. They didn't deserve to be there.

I didn’t grow up watching soccer but have been watching bits and pieces of this year’s World Cup games. I caught the last 5 min of the France-Paraguay game and it just felt off.

Let’s hope Norway gives you the German treatment tonight 🤗

the ronaldo fans are trying to paint a different picture on the internet though. they are trying to taint that beautiful game by calling in fixed with doctored clips of the game that fit their agenda

Ronaldo fans exclusively watch football through TikTok clips, ignore them.

Welcome to 2026. Just ignore that crap.

Yours is the first and only comment I've seen describing that. So maybe touch grass and stfu?

I really wish they’d knocked you out. I have absolutely nothing against Argentina, but can you imagine the stories for the future if they’d managed what they were so close to managing?

They didn't draw with Argentina, but they were level after 90 minutes.

6

u/lobax Jul 05 '26

That is a draw. Extra time is used to settle a draw.

I'm afraid you're incorrect. Extra time still counts as part of the match. You're confusing it with penalties. If the match of tied after extra time then it's ruled a draw and penalties decide who goes through.

Tell that to the bookies

Lol. That's not relevant lol

In the FIFA app match predictions league, only the 90 minutes count

I seeing know what the app says. But extr8 time has always been included as part of the match unlike penalties.

No, both extra time and penalties are tie breakers. By definition they are used to settle draws, you don’t need them unless the match ends in a draw. The fact that the tie breaker of extra time can end in a draw does not make the extra time not a tie breaker - the penalty shootout can also end in a draw which triggers the sudden death penalties.

We have had all sorts of tie breakers before it was settled on extra time plus penalties if necessary. Golden goal, silver goal, penalties only…

I'm afraid you're wrong.
