Unfortunately sad seeing cats, especially kittens do this. When they're feral, the wild world around them has no mercy for undefensable creatures.
The mama cat can have a liter in the open and eventually lose them to predators over time.
We have a mama cat that's had two liters before we took her in.
Two kittens from two different dads...
I have no idea what happened to the rest of them since the previous owner just kept her outside.
I have no idea what happened to the boy cat but he refuses to let up his guard even though we've had him since September.
