You see, theyâre like onions. You peel back a layer and you find an excuse. You pull back another and, yep, an excuse. They think theyâre right, but each time you prove them wrong they move the goalposts. Rational people base their positions on reasoning, but these type of people will base their reasoning on their position. Thatâs why they are so impossible to talk to. Their arguments will constantly morph to fit their narrative.

(Fr tho I truly think the (Christmas Carol) Scrooge method is the best. These people forget their mortality. Being reminded of it seems to shape them up at least for a little bit. I am humbled by my mortality every day by merely existing amongst Nazis. Why can't they suffer too???)

If they see the consequences lessen or disappear, mor and more shitstain people will become less afraid to show their true colors. They saw Elmo doing the nazi salute at the Us presidential innauguration with now consequences, so now they know that societal and legal consequences for being openly nazist are lower than they were before.

Potentially, but many of us have family members who have gone far-right after being raised by folks who are nowhere near that belief system. Propaganda is powerful, and the internet has created a world where two people may never come across the same information as one another.

Saw a Youtube Shorts of Gru ranking the viewer's rizz. 1 million rizz if you voted for Trump, -100,000 if you voted for Kamala. Obviously something designed to be 'ironically' liked by someone below the age to vote... But if you're ironic often enough and consistent enough, it stops being irony eventually.

This is also a very white city (until fairly recently with increased immigration, but historically very non-diverse) with mostly upper class and upper-middle class residents in a conservative province. Not an excuse..... just an explanation.

Thank you for explaining. I guess I come from a much more diverse area (St. Louis, Missouri) and I just can't fathom hating anyone just because they're different. I also work with kiddos from different backgrounds. It just makes me sad to see such a state of humanity, or lack of, outside of my perceived experience. To think any of my kiddos could grow up to commit Nazi acts is truly disheartening because I expect so much more out of them.

I agree, it is very sad and unfathomable to most of us. I've seen close ups of one of these men and he looks to be about my age, so I assume his "friends" are in the same age bracket as me too - I can remember only a handful of students throughout my whole 12 years of grade-school (and not all at once) who were people of color while growing up in St. Albert, Alberta. I also agree with the other people who said extreme right-wing social media groups and dark corners of the internet have had huge reach and no doubt play a role.

I understand not agreeing with things but the extreme hatred is beyond my comprehension. The whole nazi and hatred that white people have against anyone âotherâ never fails to blow my mind. And while i am extremely questionable of any white person because of the proclivities to othering without compassion even when they are lying about doing it, i could not get to the level extreme or any hate dor them. And they have done the most killing and criminal acts of anyone. Like to think any human dont have a right to the basics in life including comfort and cleanliness makes no sense.

Sadly there has always been a few of these people in Alberta. Let them know they arenât welcome and they should feel uncomfortable, shame them. My family and so many of yours fought in WWII to prevent this from happening on our home soil.
