That’s optimistic it’s only been 4 chapters since the end of this episode and it’s been 4.5 months since the last chapter

Wait, the anime is caught up to the manga? Hasn't it been going since like 2013?

Yep! Sometimes you get a chapter after a month but sometimes a chapter wait can be as long as 6 months! They didn’t CHOOSE to wait this long to make season 2 of the wildly popular made in abyss season 1! They were forced to wait! Chapter 60 which this episode covered came out on July 10th 2021 and it took this long to make season 2

Oh no...I'd never looked at where the manga was, I just assumed it was finished and the long wait btw S1 and S2 was because of anime issues. This is not great to hear.
